Professional Semester i:
The following is a link to a webpage I had a part in creating concerning Using Technology to Assess Literacy:

Both KSA #5: Teachers identify and respond to learner differences & KSA #11: Teachers gather and use information about students’ learning needs and progress and assess the range of learning objectives are exemplified in the following feedback I received.
During a lesson I try to use a variety of assessment strategies in order to ensure students are engaged and understanding the content I am teaching. The following is an assessment by my University Consultant that outlines the assessment strategies I used throughout my lesson:

Feedback is an essential aspect to quality and effective assessment. The following are some examples of student work. These were completed and assessed using feedback as well as peer-feedback; rather than receiving grades students were able to continuously ask their peers as well as me for feedback to improve their work:
Professional Semester II:
My knowledge and beliefs concerning assessment is continuously evolving and strengthening. The following beliefs and documents reflect KSA #11: Teachers gather and use information about students' learning needs and progress and assess the range of learning objectives.
Assessment Philosophy:
I believe, all assessment should promote student learning.
I believe, students should be involved in all aspects of assessment: specifically the criteria on which they are to be assessed upon.
I believe, students should continuously self –assess in order to become responsible for their own learning and develop a strong sense of metacognition.
I believe, assessment should be differentiated to meet students where they are at in their learning.
I believe, assessment that reflects student knowledge can only be achieved when students are made aware of the target they are trying to hit.
I believe, it is the teacher’s responsibility to ensure assessment always promotes learning.

Assessment Connections Matrix
The following document exemplifies the ways in which I aim to continuously reflect and improve my assessment practices. Thinking about current issues and solutions in assessment and how it will effect my own planning and assessment can be seen in the following document (click to open).
